I place a strong emphasis on understanding the goals and objectives of my clients, grasping the intricate details as well as the big picture, and being dedicated to client satisfaction. I believe that sticking to these fundamentals at all times is the best way to serve those who entrust me to advise them on their legal issues.
Timothy Brinks focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation, tort and insurance defense, and professional liability defense. Timothy has extensive experience representing and advising clients at every stage of the litigation process, from initial claim investigation through discovery and trial, as well as advocating for them in appellate proceedings before state and federal circuit courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Drawing on his experience and skill sets, Timothy serves and advises clients of all sizes in commercial disputes, including claims involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, non-compete and restrictive covenants, unfair trade practices, defamation, and shareholder derivative actions. He also defends clients in professional liability lawsuits, including claims for legal malpractice and director and officer liability.
Timothy has also represented a wide variety of companies and organizations, from international energy companies to local small businesses, in tort litigation involving personal injury and premises liability claims. He also provides recommendations and guidance to his clients on methods for reducing their liability risks and exposures.
On the regulatory side, Timothy advises and represents transportation companies, hospitality businesses, and other entities in regulatory matters, including administrative proceedings before state agencies and municipal departments.
Timothy attended LSU Law School, where he graduated with honors and was selected to serve on the Louisiana Law Review. His undergraduate educational background in business administration and finance informs his legal practice by giving him deeper insight into his clients’ commercial issues and priorities, as well as their operating concerns and long-term goals.
In keeping with the firm’s commitment to community service, Timothy regularly dedicates his time and expertise to a number of charitable organizations, non-profit boards and community groups in New Orleans. He currently serves as the President of the Lakeview Civic Improvement Association and is a member of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute. As a father of four, Timothy also volunteers his time coaching youth baseball and other youth activities in our community.
“ I am dedicated to providing clients with superior service and attention to detail. As the son of a small business owner, those characteristics were instilled in me at a young age and are central to my identity as a lawyer. ”
