Adams and Reese attorney Austin Stewart has been selected to participate in the Leadership Mississippi Class of 2019, a program of the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) conducted by the M.B. Swayze Foundation.
The program aims to develop and maintain a network of Mississippians committed to improving the quality of life in the state, bringing together corporate leaders, executives, emerging leaders, community leaders and new-to-Mississippi leaders who are driven to lead.
This year's 53 participants were selected by a committee of MEC’s Leadership Mississippi Alumni. Throughout the course of the program, participants will work together in a training program that combines individual study, group sessions and project experience in using leadership skills.
At Adams and Reese, Stewart has a litigation-driven practice that focuses on complex matters involving products liability, commercial litigation, toxic torts and insurance. His breadth of litigation experience includes representing clients in industrial services, construction, product manufacturing, real estate and government. He serves on the national trial counsel team for an industry-leading product manufacturing company, and works closely with experts in industrial hygiene, workplace safety and government regulation.
Stewart has extensive background experience in regulatory matters, including with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which enables him to be an effective advisor to industrial, manufacturing, medical device and construction clients navigating regulatory compliance or facing inspections, investigations, citations and enforcement actions.
In addition to his litigation practice, Stewart acts as outside general counsel to assist business clients of all types, and is a trusted resource on a range of legal issues, including contractual issues, landlord/tenant law, insurance, general corporate matters and transactions. He also advises clients on entertainment law and helps clients negotiate and finalize contracts, endorsement deals, cross-industry promotions, licensing and merchandising agreements in various industries, including literary, home goods, furniture, home improvement and restaurants.
