Bonner advises clients on government relations and economic development matters across the United States. He advises business clients as well as public sector clients on how best to win on the issues with which they need help. He also regularly provides counsel to municipal and other governmental entities on growth and revitalization efforts – including downtown revitalization, transportation and greenway and blue projects and projects involving significant public-private partnerships and investment. He has helped create downtown historic districts for preservation purposes, tax improvement districts for economic growth initiatives, and funding programs specifically focused on workforce development and improving labor participation rates in communities. He represents and advises municipalities, government agencies, universities and boards in all aspects of daily operations, sustainability and economic development projects. In the last decade alone, Bonner has handled projects that represent billions of dollars of capital investment in the southeastern United States.
Bonner was one of the founding leaders of the firm’s Intersection of Business and Government practice group, a leader of the firm’s Economic Development team, and Partner in Charge of the Mobile office.
