In an article published in Global Trade magazine on November 5, Chris Kane and Cole Callihan discuss how U.S. manufacturers can prepare themselves for the latest round of Chinese tariffs. They advise that manufacturers focus on what they can actually control and consider steps to protect themselves.
Chris and Cole outline these three steps for companies to remember: 1) take advantage of the available exclusion processes; 2) regularly evaluate its existing contracts, including supply contracts; and 3) evaluate the classifications of the imported products.
The pair agrees that no matter your company’s position, “now is the time to act and to do what is in your control to protect your interest.”
