Adams and Reese Partner Kellen Mathews has been named a member of the State Farm Rising Star Academy Class of 2023.
The Rising Star Academy, established in tandem with the company’s support of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Resolution 113, is an exclusive program recognizing select outside counsel for their leadership and business acumen.
Through its Rising Star Academy, State Farm connects with diverse counsel to expand business relationships and support diverse attorneys who further understand State Farm’s business and culture, which prioritizes DEI as central to its mission.
At Adams and Reese, Mathews has a diverse practice, where he focuses on litigation, administrative and regulatory matters, and government contracting. His litigation experience spans numerous areas of law including commercial litigation, construction, labor and employment, products liability, and personal injury.
Calling on skills honed in his litigation practice as well as his knowledge of administrative procedure, Mathews also represents clients in regulatory actions, having tried multiple administrative matters before Louisiana’s Division of Administrative Law.
Mathews helps clients navigate highly nuanced government procurement and public bid processes. He assists clients in industries ranging from health care to construction and disaster remediation in applying for, challenging, and defending contract awards. Additionally, he represents vendors in negotiating and obtaining mutually acceptable resolutions of contractual disputes with government agencies.
Mathews formerly served as the Partner in Charge of the Adams and Reese Baton Rouge office.
Mathews has been selected by peers as the Best Lawyers "Lawyer of the Year" in Baton Rouge in Administrative/Regulatory Law. He is also ranked in the national publication in the practice areas of Government Relations and Commercial Litigation. He is a former recipient of "Forty Under 40" by Baton Rouge Business Report.
