The law firm of Adams and Reese announced today the addition of associate attorney Collin M. Weyand in the firm’s Houston office.
Weyand practices primarily in the areas of insurance coverage, construction litigation, and oil and gas litigation. He has drafted numerous coverage opinions analyzing insurance coverage and potential insurer liability for both first-party and third-party claims. Collin has also drafted petitions, answers, motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss and notices of removal, and he has assisted with preparation for eviction hearings, depositions and trials.
An active member of the Texas legal community, Weyand is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association.
Weyand holds an associate degree in kinesiology from Trinity Valley Community College and completed his B.A. in economics from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2014. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2017.
Weyand finished law school seventh in his class and was invited to be in the Order of the Lytae. While in law school, he was a finalist in a pair of Moot Court competitions, received six CALI Awards for the highest grade in his class, and was a member of the Board of Advocates and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Weyand also served as Senior Articles Editor of the South Texas Law Review, Editor-in-Chief of the Adelphia Law Journal, Associate Editor of the Corporate Counsel Review, Dean of the E.E. Townes Senate of the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, and Treasurer of the Federalist Society.
As an undergraduate, Weyand was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, an active member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and a Student Government Senator. In junior college, he played two seasons of varsity basketball and was a member of the Trinity Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
