Adams and Reese LLP Of Counsel Ronald Sholes has been appointed to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. Governor John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions on June 25th. Ronald was nominated by Xavier University and will represent the 2nd Congressional District.
The retired district court judge will be responsible for regulating all gaming activities under the board’s jurisdiction in a manner which instills public confidence and trust that gaming activities are conducted honestly and free from criminal and corruptive elements. He will also be tasked with ensuring the integrity of individual gaming activities by the regulation of persons, practices, associations, and activities within the gaming industry.
Ronald brings a rich background and perspective to his new role. Having been a judge, an instructor, a public health specialist, a leader in cultural groups, and a lawyer, Ronald brings unparalleled experience to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
