Adams and Reese is pleased to announce that MaryBeth Wilkerson, former Public Policy Manager for the Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, has joined the AmLaw 200 and NLJ 500 law firm as Government Relations Coordinator in the Baton Rouge office.
Wilkerson will represent businesses on navigating regulatory challenges across local, state, and federal governments, and connecting clients’ interests and policy goals to further investment and growth.
“Through a locally and nationally-recognized GR practice, Adams and Reese has had a long and successful history of partnering with clients to assist them in navigating through the dynamic business-government juncture,” said Wilkerson. “I look forward to transitioning that same level of dedication from my public policy experience with the Alzheimer’s Association to assisting businesses and advocating for their interests.”
In addition to drafting, lobbying, and passing legislation on federal, state, and regulatory levels, Wilkerson represented the Alzheimer’s Association in a variety of forms including testimony at committee meetings, public hearings, and media appearances. She researched, planned, and executed GR strategies at local and state levels, developing relationships with municipal agencies, city councils, state agencies, and stakeholders. The Louisiana State Legislature recognized Wilkerson for her Alzheimer’s Association advocacy work.
Wilkerson is a former Governmental Affairs Associate for The Louisiana State Medical Society, where among her accomplishments she recruited more than 250 contributors to the Louisiana Medical Political Action Committee (LAMPAC).
In the Baton Rouge community, Wilkerson is a board member of the BREC Foundation.
Wilkerson earned her B.A. in Communication and Information Sciences from The University of Alabama.
