My work is about delivering results and solving problems on behalf of my clients. The ability to build bridges among the people and stakeholders who make projects happen – local, state, and federal officials in the U.S. along with business leaders in the U.S. and overseas – is a required skill.
Britton Bonner is the only lawyer in Alabama and one of only 15 lawyers in the United States to receive a Nationwide ranking in Government Relations: State and Local by Chambers USA.
Britton advises clients on government relations and economic development matters across the United States. He advises business clients as well as public sector clients on how best to win on the issues with which they need help. He also regularly provides counsel to municipal and other governmental entities on growth and revitalization efforts – including downtown revitalization, transportation and greenway and blue projects and projects involving significant public-private partnerships and investment. He has helped create downtown historic districts for preservation purposes, tax improvement districts for economic growth initiatives, and funding programs specifically focused on workforce development and improving labor participation rates in communities. He represents and advises municipalities, government agencies, universities and boards in all aspects of daily operations, sustainability and economic development projects. In the last decade alone, Britton has handled projects that represent billions of dollars of capital investment in the southeastern United States.
Britton currently serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Prior to that role he was one of the founding leaders of the firm’s Intersection of Business and Government practice group, a leader of the firm’s Economic Development team, and Partner in Charge of the Mobile office

Britton has always been active in community causes dating back to his days at Foley High School. He is a graduate of Leadership Alabama and Leadership Baldwin County. Britton is the former Chairman of the Board for the Coastal Alabama Partnership. He is a former Chairman of the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County.
Britton is a former Vice-Chairman of the Baldwin County Republican Party, and is a past President of the Southwest Alabama Chapter of the Troy Alumni Association. Britton is also a former member of and served a four-year term on the Alabama State Republican Executive Committee.

Best Lawyers® named Britton as Lawyer of the Year - Mobile Government Relations Practice for 2023 and 2025. Troy University honored Britton as Alumni of the Year in 2023. He has also been rated as "Preeminent" by the Martindale-Hubbell Client Review System and with a Peer Review rating as “AV Preeminent.” He was named as a “40 Under 40” by Mobile Bay Magazine. Britton has been named to Best Lawyers® and Super Lawyers in the areas of law such as Government Relations Practice, Economic Development Law, and Government Contracts for over a decade.
