B. Jeffrey Brooks, Adams and Reese Government Relations Attorney, DC Partner, and Executive Committee Member, was interviewed in “LaPolitics: The Government Relations Q&A” published by the Baton Rouge Business Report.
“Our seven state legislative practices are on the rise, primarily due to the growth and business-friendly climates in the southeastern part of the United States,” said Brooks in the interview. “Adams and Reese is fortunate to operate in these jurisdictions. We are seeing our clients expand and drive economic development projects, which leads to legislative needs across our footprint.”
Brooks discussed various GR topics, including the state of federal government and Adams and Reese's longstanding working relationship with Louisiana's current influential delegation in Congress.
“While the Louisiana delegation has held influence at various times with appropriators or chairman of critical committees, the current congressional delegation is exceptionally influential and powerful," said Brooks. "This is not solely due to the speaker and majority leader, but also because the delegation has members from both sides of the aisle serving on the committees that matter most to Louisiana. These committees include House and Senate Appropriations, Senate Energy and Health and Education, House Transportation and Infrastructure, House Agriculture, and House Homeland Security. The delegation and these committees cover the many needs of Louisiana.”
