Adams and Reese attorneys Susan Eccles and Claire Sauls presented a continuing education construction law webinar on “Handling Ethical Issues Associated with Defects and Failures,” as part of a seminar for HalfMoon Education, Inc.

The national continuing education provider held a day-long webinar series on July 10th on “Preventing and Addressing Construction Defects and Failures in Louisiana.” The webinar was attended remotely by practicing construction attorneys and construction industry professionals, including architects, engineers, and contractors.

In the webinar, Eccles and Sauls covered areas such as understanding parties’ roles and relationships; understanding the liability and indemnification provisions in construction documents; the duty to raise potential safety and durability issues; making warrantees and guarantees; and working outside areas of competence.

Eccles serves as the Partner in Charge of the Adams and Reese Baton Rouge office, while maintaining a diverse legal practice centered on construction, state and federal procurement/government contracts, commercial litigation, and professional liability.

Sauls practices in the Adams and Reese Baton Rouge office. She represents corporate clients in construction defect matters, premise liability claims, breach of contract issues, and commercial insurance defense.
