Adams and Reese is pleased to announce that Todd D. Engelhardt has been appointed the Partner in Charge of the firm’s Birmingham office by Managing Partner Gif Thornton. The firm has a Partner in Charge in each of its offices throughout the southern United States and Washington, D.C.
Engelhardt brought his considerable experience to Adams and Reese in 2016. His varied practice includes representing employers in labor and employment disputes, advising and representing various entities in corporate matters, counseling financial institutions on compliance and operational issues, and litigating general commercial cases.
Engelhardt has argued at the administrative, trial, and appellate levels, ranging from drafting position statements at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to authoring party briefs at the Supreme Court of the United States, with numerous hearings, trials, petitions, and appeals to his credit. He also routinely counsels entities on ways to avoid litigation, and has handled all types of formal and informal alternate dispute resolutions.
Before attending law school, Engelhardt spent 10 years working in different financial institutions in operational and management roles. He spearheaded the launching of debit card, EFT, and merchant programs at two large credit unions in North Florida after working his way up through the electronic commerce and consumer lending platforms.
Engelhardt received his J.D. magna cum laude from The Florida State University College of Law in 2005. He is a 1992 graduate of Florida State University, where he earned his B.A. in Political Science.
