As Hurricane Milton bears down on Florida, the ALM/Law.com publication Daily Business Review interviewed several law firm executives, including Adams and Reese Tampa Partner in Charge Chantal Pillay, about how they are preparing for the historic Category 5 hurricane.

“We are actively monitoring communications from the court systems and communicating any of those updates and/or changes to our clients,” Pillay said. “We have a dedicated Crisis Preparedness and Response Team that assists clients in natural disaster preparation, recovery efforts, and resources available, and we also provide these services to any of our employees as well.”

For the safety of its employees, Adams and Reese has temporarily closed its Sarasota and Tampa physical office locations, but attorneys and staff are working remotely.

“This has allowed our employees to take the necessary precautions to either evacuate to safe locations or protect their homes before the storm arrives,” Pillay said. “Our technology capabilities enable all of us to work remotely, and our firm's footprint ensures that we can continue to serve our clients without interruption.”

Following Hurricane Helene impacting Florida two weeks ago, the Adams and Reese Crisis Preparedness and Response Team compiled several stories and a list of resources available that are helpful to business recovery. Adams and Reese attorneys stand by with all hands-on deck across the law firm’s footprint to do the same to ensure recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
