Adams and Reese LLP is pleased to announce that Seth Power Hood has joined the AmLaw 200 and NLJ 500 multidisciplinary law firm as Government Relations Advisor.
Hood, who will work out of the Adams and Reese Jackson office, has a decade of experience in the legislative, regulatory, and state procurement processes, advising clients on government relations and campaign strategy in Mississippi. Before joining Adams and Reese, Hood launched and served as Managing Partner of Political Sourcing Group, a business consulting and non-partisan campaign management firm.
“I am excited to continue my governmental relations career at Adams and Reese – a nationally recognized law firm for its representation of clients at the local, regional, and national levels, across the firm’s vast footprint,” said Hood. Hood will assist the Adams and Reese Intersection of Business and Government Practice, representing clients in governmental relations, economic development, public finance, and working with businesses on regulatory challenges across local, state, and federal governments.
“We see Seth as a rising star in the field of government relations, and he will be a significant addition to our team at Adams and Reese,” said Brad Lampley, Adams and Reese Intersection of Business and Government Practice Group Leader. “Throughout his years of working in and around Mississippi and federal government, Seth has built widespread and lasting relationships with political officials, business executives, community leaders, and nonprofit directors. We are excited that he can now put those relationships to work for clients that need top-flight government relations and economic development assistance in Mississippi.”
At Political Sourcing Group, Hood created a business consulting and non-partisan campaign management firm to serve as a consulting and marketing extension of coordinated efforts for more than 300 political campaigns, small businesses, and nonprofits.
Hood formerly served as a governmental affairs lobbyist at JM Hughes Group, providing governmental affairs consulting and public affairs strategy by staying abreast of trending legislation, working alongside elected officials and delivering outcomes for a diverse client base.
Hood began his professional career as a commercial insurance producer and risk management consultant for the more than 100-year-old Terral Insurance, LLC, one of Mississippi’s most longstanding insurance agencies. He earned the designation as a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist. His primary focus was working alongside the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools and national insurance companies as they re-evaluated new risks to the school industry.
Born and raised in Jackson, Hood received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Risk Management and Financial Planning) from the Mississippi State University College of Business. He graduated high school locally in Flowood, at Northwest Rankin High School, and he is an active member of Fondren Church in Jackson.
