Pipeline Programs and Partnerships
At Adams and Reese, we know that having varied perspectives help generate better ideas to solve the complex problems of a changing – and increasingly diverse world.
NALP/Street Law Legal Diversity Pipeline Program
In 2021, Adams and Reese joined with the National Association for Law Placement, and launched a Street Law program through our Mobile office. Recognizing the need for earlier education about careers in the legal profession to create a true pipeline for diverse lawyers, the goal of this program is to teach high school students about the law and legal careers, encourage them to pursue legal careers, and offer support in this pursuit. Attorneys from our Mobile office partnered with LeFlore Magnet High School throughout the school year, and are already anxiously planning our next iteration of the program. In 2022 we will continue the Street Law Program in Mobile, and will expand the program with a partnership with a high school in New Orleans. Learn more about Street Law.
ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship
Adams and Reese has partnered with the American Bar Association to become an “ABA Legal Opportunity Firm.” Through this partnership, we established the Adams and Reese ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship, which is awarded to minority law students during the course of their three years in law school. For more information please visit the American Bar Association website.
Memphis Bar Association Summer Law Internship Program
In conjunction with the Memphis Bar Association, Adams participates in the Summer Law Internship Program, which provides diverse high school students with the opportunity to intern with firms like Adams and Reese, in an effort to nurture an interest in the legal profession. Summer Interns work a total of 60 hours during the summer, and receive a $500 stipend. For additional information on this program or to apply, please visit the Memphis Bar Association website.
