Overview

David King is an accomplished professional economic developer with over 30 years of global business experience, bringing local, state, federal, and international knowledge in advising clients on economic development and foreign direct investment (FDI) to a range or services in supporting numerous economic sectors. David works alongside a professional team of attorneys and government relations advisors through the firm’s footprint.

Before joining Adams & Reese, David was a founding member of a multi-county non-profit, providing corporate site selection services, cultivating economic advancement and enrichment for member counties and the state’s capital city of Columbia.

Throughout his career, David worked in many roles as Vice President of Global Business, and was part of a team of professional economic developers that assisted with projects with announced capital investment of nearly $20 billion and the creation of over 80,000 new jobs through relationships with corporate site selectors, C-Suite executives, and government officials.

David identified strategic targets for global business recruitment and led more than 100 global business recruitment missions for various key stakeholders and elected officials. His background with start-ups, privately held businesses, and publicly traded companies provides clients with solutions for successful outcomes.

In 2022, David was appointed as “Local Representative for the State of South Carolina” by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Italy Board of Directors. David has volunteered to support numerous organizations and served on the foundation board of directors for South Carolina’s largest hospital system, statewide junior golf organization, food banks, public education, the arts, and many more organizations in helping make a positive difference.
