Grace Speas is a member of the Adams and Reese Litigation Practice Group. Grace represents corporate clients in various areas of commercial litigation, insurance litigation, insurance industry matters, and regulatory law. She represents clients in civil litigation before Florida’s state and federal courts.
In her insurance practice, Grace has experience representing insurance companies in first-party litigation; defending policyholders in auto and premises liability litigation; and defending commercial entities in premises liability disputes.
Experienced in all stages of the litigation process from beginning to resolution, Grace researches and analyzes pertinent case materials; conducts investigations to ensure all defenses are raised and pursued; issues, evaluates, and responds to discovery requests; conducts and defends depositions; researches and prepares summary judgment motions and other various motions; works with expert witnesses; and negotiates with opposing counsel to avoid costly litigation and trial when possible.
Grace earned her J.D. at Florida State University College of Law. While in law school, she interned for the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami and served as a legislative fellow for the Health & Human Services Committee with the Florida House of Representatives. Grace received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, where her experiences included being a peer mentor, teaching assistant, and a reporter for the university’s student newspaper, The Daily Texan. Additional professional experience included reporting internships and coaching positions in journalism, further demonstrating a commitment to improving her communication and advocacy skills that she employs now in her legal practice.
