Overview

Jeff Surprenant uses his background as a Certified Public Accountant to counsel individuals and family offices on their estate planning, income tax, and other business matters. Jeff’s estate planning practice also includes the traditional areas such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Jeff has experience advising clients in both large and small succession/probate matters, including representing heirs in successions that can be adversarial, and he guides clients in corporate, matrimonial, and charitable transactions.

In his financial service practice, Jeff helps banks and commercial lenders on a broad range of issues relating to commercial and consumer lending, leases, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, and corporate governance.

Jeff graduated second in his class from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and he was a Case Note & Comment Editor on the Loyola Law Review. Before attending law school, Jeff worked at a local accounting firm and graduated from Fordham University in 2014 with an undergraduate degree in accounting, summa cum laude.

After graduating law school, Jeff spent a year clerking for Judge Jay C. Zainey in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana before joining Adams & Reese.
