Jordan Barley is a member of the Adams and Reese Corporate Services Practice, assisting the group’s attorneys on the representation of clients across a wide range of practice areas, including real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and aviation and aerospace matters. Jordan also supports business owners with day-to-day operational advice, negotiating contracts, assisting with entity formation and corporate governance matters, as well as niche work in the death space, including specifically advising financial institutions regarding which parties may take possession of deceased customers’ funds and other property.
Within her real estate practice, Jordan has experience assisting clients in commercial leases, contracts with associated addendums, and multifamily housing matters, including legislative reviews, state compliance, and queries around the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA).
In her M&A work, Jordan assists corporate clients with acquisitions and dispositions of business entities and assets, entity operating agreements, board member compliance, and purchase and sales agreements.
Jordan's aerospace law experience includes contract drafting and review, corporate governance for small aviation business owners, as well as regulatory compliance, specifically around proposed rules by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Jordan earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law Houston. Among her accomplishments in law school included CALI Award (highest grade), Civil Procedure I, Contracts I, Family Law, Legal Research & Writing I, Dean’s Honor List, Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient, and Presidential Fellow. She was also a member of the South Texas Law Review.
Prior to law school, Jordan was an advertising and marketing professional, with close to a decade of experience in corporate branding, creative design, advertising, sales and training, including execution of successful branding and promotional campaigns in traditional and social marketing, hands-on management of vendor/client projects and relationships, and analytical research and application.
Jordan and her husband own an insurance brokerage company specializing in insurance coverage plans for playmakers in the aviation industry, supporting aircraft owners, airports, charters, flight schools, parts suppliers, A&P liability needs, and part-135 operations.
Jordan is proud of her philanthropic efforts. For eight years, she held leadership positions for The Junior League of Austin, including Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator for the Community Impact Center.
