Katelin Varnado represents clients in all areas of construction, general liability and commercial litigation, insurance defense, government relations and regulatory matters.
Katelin is ranked by her peers and clients among the Louisiana Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” in Construction Litigation, Civil Litigation, and Business/Corporate Law.
Katelin was recently selected by Council For A Better Louisiana as a member of the 2024 Class of Leadership Louisiana, a highly-respected program that offers emerging business professionals, government, and community leaders an opportunity to collaborate on challenges facing the state and work together to further develop economic opportunities.
Katelin received her B.S. and J.D. from Louisiana State University.
Construction
Katelin is a member of one of the largest construction practices in the country with Adams and Reese’s roster of more than 80 attorneys serving the legal needs of the construction industry.
Within her construction practice, Katelin represents contractors, owners, developers, and design professionals, in matters involving design defects, delay and payment disputes, contract termination, and professional liability.
Katelin assists clients in obtaining the necessary permits and licenses to begin, advance, and complete construction projects and represents clients in matters before the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors.
Katelin also works with clients on preparing, evaluating, and responding to bids related to public works projects throughout Louisiana and has prepared successful bid protests.
As a published author for LexisNexis and JDSupra, and a presenter for the Construction Management Association of America (CMMA), Gulf Coast Chapter, Katelin ensures her clients stay up to date on construction code changes, new regulations, and industry trends which may impact their work.
Regulatory
Katelin helps clients navigate regulatory processes and proceedings before state agencies and boards in various matters, including those involving the transportation of oil and gas and public utilities.
Commercial, General, and Labor and Employment Litigation
Katelin also advises clients on contract interpretation and enforcement, business formation and corporate governance, and various labor and employment litigation matters. She has experience litigating the enforceability of employment agreements, non-competition agreements, and non-solicitation agreements. Katelin also has experience navigating complex and multi-party litigation and representing state agencies and boards, universities, and municipalities in both state and federal courts.
