Overview

Lee Bonner Friedman, a member of the Adams & Reese Intersection of Business & Government Practice Group, has close to a decade of experience in the political arena, including working as a staff member for the former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. As a Government Relations Advisor in the firm’s Mobile office, Lee represents clients in public policy, government affairs, and in regulatory matters where legal and business issues converge.

From generating grassroots strategies to managing strategy development, Lee assists clients in drafting, lobbying, and passing legislation; recruiting, training, and mobilizing advocates; and supporting alliances among organizations with similar public policy goals. In addition to connecting clients to key stakeholders and fostering relationships, Lee works with businesses, trade associations, and nonprofits to execute GR strategies at the local and state levels across Alabama and at the federal level in DC. She also collaborates with clients to craft and implement strategic communications and public relations plans in front of traditional and social media.

Lee formerly served as the deputy director of scheduling for former U.S. House Speaker and Congressman Kevin McCarthy. During her tenure, Lee worked in various capacities — organizing meetings with international dignitaries, arranging domestic and foreign trips, and representing the former speaker on the Presidential Inauguration Committee in 2021.

Lee graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama, where she majored in Hospitality Management with a specialized focus in meeting management and event planning.

In the community, Lee serves on the Local Goodness committee, raising awareness and support for USA Health Children’s and Women’s Hospital. She previously served as the treasurer for Taste of the South, a nonprofit dedicated to charity fundraising and was the director of events for the Alabama State Society, a casual frequent gathering of Alabama natives residing in DC.
