Overview

Mateo Dayo is a member of the Adams & Reese Litigation Practice Group and an Associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office. Mateo has represented a wide range of clients including financial institutions, business owners, contractors, developers, commercial landlords, and companies of all sizes. He has experience in multiple practice areas and has litigated contract disputes, lease disputes, creditor’s rights issues, post-judgment collections efforts, fraudulent transfer claims, unfair trade practices claims and other business torts.

A Sarasota native, Mateo’s experience with the federal judiciary has taken him across the state of Florida and beyond. Mateo previously interned for the Hon. M. Casey Rodgers at the Northern District of Florida in Pensacola. He is also a former judicial intern for the Hon. O. Rogeriee Thompson as the United State Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Mateo received his J.D. from Boston College Law School. During law school, he competed on his school’s Jessup International Moot Court Team, represented his classmates in student government and served as the President of both the Holocaust & Human Rights Project and International Law Society. He earned his B.A. in Political Science at the University of Florida. Before starting his legal career, Mateo worked on successful political campaigns for local and statewide offices.
