Overview
Renewable energy continues to expand globally, creating opportunities across energy generation, distribution, investment, and infrastructure development. Our attorneys have their fingers on the heartbeat of this industry, keeping our clients informed on the evolution of renewable energy whether they are slow building movements or quick changes. Adams & Reese provides legal counsel, which integrates that industry knowledge with commercial strategy to help clients achieve their objectives.
With deep experience in both traditional and renewable energy markets, Adams & Reese advises clients on establishing, expanding, and investing in renewable energy ventures. Recognized by Chambers USA and U.S. News & World Report, our multidisciplinary team works with utilities, domestic and international upstream and midstream companies, gas storage and carbon sequestration firms, private equity investors, banks, and land management companies.
Regulatory Guidance
Adams & Reese assists both emerging companies and established energy providers in managing the complex and evolving regulatory framework. The firm provides guidance on federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and contested regulatory matters.
With a strong presence in Washington, D.C., the firm monitors federal agency policies, including developments from the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and other regulatory bodies. Our lawyers also engage with policymakers across the Southeast to track regulatory shifts and advocate for clients’ positions in industry discussions.
Growth, Investment, and Development
Mergers and acquisitions are a major driver of expansion in the renewable energy sector, where even exponential annual growth lags demand. Adams & Reese provides comprehensive counsel on acquisitions, due diligence, contract negotiations, tax structuring, regulatory approvals, and economic development incentives. The firm assists clients with financing, site selection, state and local tax credits, and permitting for renewable energy projects.
If conflicts arise, Adams & Reese provides assertive counsel for contract disputes, accidents, mass tort, and complex or class action litigation.
